This article provides an overview of the OrbusInfinity user interface, its key features, and how to get started as a new user.

Once signed in, you will land on the main page of the OrbusInfinity web application, commonly referred to as the Home Page. This is the page you will get to from the OrbusInfinity toolbar logo, as well as the Home menu item on the Navigation pane.

The Web application is structured into three areas we are exploring below.

The Main Navigation

The main navigation can be found in a collapsible pane on the left-hand side of the screen. There, you will be able to access and browse content using predefined views, dashboards, and diagrams.

• Home: return to the Home Page.
• View Content: display Objects and Relationships of the selected Model-Solution-Categories.
• Manage Dashboards: create, access, manage, and share Dashboards. You can set a Dashboard as your Home Page.
• Access Public Views: access shared Views, including Lists, Visualizations, Traceability Views, Matrices, and Landscapes.
• Access My Views: save and manage your personal Views.
• Browse Documents: browse and access documents stored in the repository (often linked to SharePoint).
• Manage Drawings: use OrbusInfinity Draw for online diagramming.
• Consult Import Reports: review logs of your Excel imports to ensure data has been correctly added to the repository content or correct import information.

The above section gives you Access to your Favorites: those are Views you have starred to have quick access to them through this menu. You can set a View as a favorite in one click through the Public Views and My Views menus.

The MSC Section

The below section, showing Models, Solutions, and Categories, act as data Filters: when applied, you will navigate the content assigned to the selected models, solutions, and categories. For more information, see Introduction to Repository Structure.

The Toolbar

The toolbar will be visible at all time once logged in to OrbusInfinity: it provides shortcuts to key features and additional resources to guide successful content exploration and insights.

• The "waffle" provides access to connected modules and systems, based on your licence.
  • Get to your organization's SharePoint site to browse published content and documents.
  • Open the Visio Desktop to visualize and model content via Visio diagrams should your organization use Visio to model graphical representation using repository data.
  • Download and install the OrbusInfinity Visio Add-In.

With specific licence and permissions, you may see two additional menus: Solutions Hub for deploying use case content and OrbusInfinity Flow to manage integrations.

• The Search: an essential tool enabling you to find information quickly across the repository content. It is based on names and descriptions of model items.
• Resources Menu: the first option displaying a question mark provides access to resources to help you get started and adopt key features quickly to make the most of them for you. Sub-menus include the Help Center, Product Portal and Roadmap, User Community, and more.
• Notifications: clicking on the bell icon opens the notifications panel and shows you the recent repository content updates.
• Recycle Bin: use the recycle bin to view and potentially recover recently deleted model items.
• Configuration area: administration area for the configuration and management of repository structure and information. For more information, see Navigation in Configure Area.
• Account Settings: select your profile icon to manage your user details, roles, and log out.

The Main Page

From the standard Home Page, you are able to access and browse through repository content and documents, create and manage Dashboards and Views to visualize and work with repository content in context, and access other menus for resources, profile information, and access to integrated systems. 

Note that this page can also be pre-configured with a Dashboard, displaying information relevant to your role and area of expertise. To know more about Dashboards, see this section.

Access Model Content

The standard Home Page shows a summary of all types and counts of Objects in your repository. It will vary depending on the Model, Solution, and Category selected in the left-hand side menu. 

1. Click on an Object Type to view the standard list of Objects and start exploring content in more detail.
2. Select View All to access the list of all types of Model Items.
3. Select Content in Main menu to access the same list of all types of Model Items and use dedicated functionalities like the OrbusInfinity Import Data or Object Merge.

Quickly Create Views

On the right panel, you can start creating different Views of your data, presenting information in ways that suit your needs to explore and analyze the repository content. You can also find shortcuts to your most recent Views. For more information about OrbusInfinity Views, see this section.
