Create a Traceability View
You can use the Traceability View to keep track of dependencies and Relationships between Objects to make further analysis. To create a Traceability View:
-
On the Public Views or My Views page, on the toolbar, select Create
, and then select Traceability View.
You can also create a View from the Dashboard page by selecting Start Traceability View in the Traceability View card.
- In the Traceability View Setup dialog box, do one of the following:
- To create a View based on Object Type, select Object Type, and then in the Object Type list, select the Object Type you need.
- To create a View based on the existing View, select View, and then in the View list, select the View you need.
- To add more levels, select the plus sign, and then specify details for the new column.
You can build up to ten levels per one Traceability View.
Once you defined at least two levels, you can specify Relationship Types between the Objects in those.
- OrbusInfinity automatically validates the list of Relationship Types that can be set for the Objects in two specified levels.
- You can specify Relationship Types between any two levels. The selection will be applied to the items in the current and preceding levels.
- By default, the name of the View or Object Type defines the name of the column. You can change the column name by selecting the name and typing the new one.
- When all the levels are specified, select Start the View.
You can view the Traceability View where the first column displays Objects defined for the level. By selecting an Object in the first column, related Objects appear in the next column, and so on.
Configure a Traceability View
Similar to List Views, you can further filter the View content by specifying additional filter conditions or adding a new filter set, or importing filters of the existing view for your Traceability View on the Filters tab. For more information, see Configure filters and filter sets.
To rename a column in the Traceability View, you need to rename the filter set. To do this:
- On the Filters tab, select the filter set.
- On the toolbar, select Filter Set Configuration
.
- In the Name field, enter a new column name.
You can apply one filter set per column. The filter set must exclude the Relationships.
The Traceability View side panel displays the View details (if the View is saved) and what level you are currently on. You can rearrange the column order of the Traceability View by moving the filter sets. To do this, next to the filter set name, select the up or down arrow.
To better understand the data you are trying to visualize, you can add Attributes for both Objects and Relationships, using the Column Options drop-down.
The customization of Attributes is available at each level of the Traceability View, so you can add desired amount of detail to each of them.
Once you have selected the level you want to add more information to, you can format how the information is presented in that level.
Upon selecting the Manage Columns button, select the columns you would like to add to the level.
To fit all the needed details, you can resize the columns in each level.
To select multiple items in a column, to view their related Objects in the subsequent level, hold the Ctrl key and select the needed items.
Export a Traceability View
You can export any Traceability View to an Excel or CSV file that will be downloaded to your PC. The file name will be automatically pre-filled based on the View name, with any special characters removed to meet system requirements.
To export a Traceability View, select the Download View Content button and choose if you want to download the View as an Excel Workbook or a CSV file.
Manage Objects within Traceability View

.

.
