Create Relationship from Matrix
Matrix Views provide a useful way to capture Relationships between Objects: use the filters to display Objects in scope and the type of Relationship to capture, and then create Relationship by a simple selection in the relevant intersection cell of the matrix.
To create a Matrix View, refer to the Matrix View article.
To create Relationships from an existing Matrix View:
- Open a Matrix, and select the cell between Objects that you want to relate to.
- On the Contents tab, select Create
.
- In the Create Relationship dialog box, select a Relationship Type, and select Relate.
You can also create a Relationship with custom Identifying Attribute between the two Objects from a Matrix View. You can see the (i) sign next to a Relationship that has Identifying Attribute assigned. OrbusInfinity lists only Relationships that are supported for the two Objects you want to relate.
You can relate the two Objects by only one Relationship that has Identifying Attribute.
The Relationship is created and depending on your Matrix settings, you can view a check box or Relationship direction at the intersection of two Objects.
Once created, a Model Item can be edited. It can also be moved, copied, reused, or deleted. Learn more through the Advanced Feature: Reuse, Move, Copy article.
