Edit Model Items
To edit information captured on Objects and Relationships:
- Open a View or run a search.
- Click on the Model Item: the Details Flyout slides over the page.
- On the Details tab, on the toolbar, select Edit
. You can also select the Edit icon on the View toolbar to open the Model Item in Edit mode directly.
- Modify the details and Attribute values as necessary.
- On the toolbar, select
Save or
Save and Close.
Now the Model Item is updated.
When you open an Object in edit mode in the OrbusInfinity application or in OrbusInfinity Visio Add-in, the Object content is locked and other users cannot edit the Object details. Only users with unlock content permission can unlock Object content and discard any changes.
Edit Objects
Use the Edit button from the Details tab of an Object: the Attribute values will be accessible in edition mode to be changed on the Object. The type of Attribute dictates the way to change its value:
- Select a single or multiple values from a drop-down list
- Type a numeric value
- Click in a radio button to change its value
- Enter text in simple or elaborated text box
When pasting text, copied from another source (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.) into any OrbusInfinity text box, make sure to clear formatting. Otherwise, you might not be able to save changes.
When editing an object, hidden attributes remain hidden, and read-only attributes remain read-only. You can only see and change attributes to which your role has the appropriate access. For more information, see Manage content permissions.
Edit Relationships
You can access and edit the Object's Relationships from the Related tab of the Objects:
- Select the Relationships to edit.
- Click the Edit
button.
- Edit the Relationship from the opening Flyout.
If you edit a Relationship via the Details Flyout or Page, the Relationship direction or Lead and Member Objects cannot be modified. Source and Target Objects strongly define the Relationship: to change this information, create a new Relationship and delete the existing one.
Bulk Edit Objects
If you have a List View open and need to immediately update multiple Objects or update an Attribute with the same value for multiple Objects, use the bulk edit functionality. It allows you to set a specific Attribute value for multiple Objects in one go.
The functionality does not yet support editing of Person or Group and Unique Identifier Attribute values. For more information about Attribute Data Types, see Configure Attribute.
- Select multiple Objects in the first column, and on the toolbar, select Edit
.
- The Edit Flyout appears to list the selected Objects’ common Attributes. You can modify values for the Attributes common to all selected Objects, the Attributes being assigned to the related Object Types.
Enter the needed values and select Update.
Bulk Edit is not available for Relationships.
You won't be able to edit attributes to which your role does not have write access. For more information, see Manage content permissions.
